Dalston businesscards1 Dalston Creative

Dalson CreativeDalston Creative is a multi-disciplinary (books, brochures, catalogues, websites, logotypes, digital, art direction, film, and photography) design studio based in Stockholm, Sweden. You definitely should have a look around their project page for some hardcore inspiration– It is pretty clear Dalston has a sharp aesthetic eye and a definitive type-based/minimalist/modern standard and style for all of their projects.

Here are some favorites of mine:

Also worth mentioning is Vessel Music, an electronic music community and organization founded and designed by Kit. The web layout for Vessel is pretty refreshing in its minimalist approach. Vessel focuses on musicians creativity and individuality by providing weekly guest mixes, music videos and a selection of records updated every 2 weeks.

Studio Karl Otto Monday, December 21st, 2009

Karl-Otto.biz launched recently bringing the artist’s (Karl Otto’s) original designs, illustrations and other work online- This includes original type and vector graphics available for licensing/purchase. The hand drawn organic typefaces seem to be breathing living things when layered on clean white space (the e-gallery utilizes white space as well which is always refreshing). Check out the whole collection here.

The collection is formed as a social instrument, working with all aspects of graphic design and should be approached as a raw material that is acted upon or used as a building material to construct a variety of visual expressions.
